Tom Casey


Tom Casey was born in a little thatched cottage in Ballinacara, Kilfenora. There were 13 in his family and he left for New York in 1927.  He met his wife Ellie while managing the Sligo Dance Hall and they both shared and enjoyed a great love of Irish music.   He worked hard all his life and spent 37 1/2 years with the New York City Transport Authority and many years part time at Macys.

This picture is taken of Tom when he led the County Clare Association up 5th Avenue with the pipe band on St. Patrick's Day.  He touched the lives and hearts of many and spread the Irish culture at every opportunity. 

The family lived in Yonkers:  Daughter Margaret married Austin John Noone - their daughters are Margaret Mary, Patricia Anne and Tara Marie.

Son Thomas Patrick moved to Seattle and has a son John Fitzpatrick.

Daughter Ellen Marie moved to Seoul with husband Lt. Col. Richard Albert Novak - their sons are Brian Joseph and Richard Albert

Daughter Kathleen Theresa is a professional singer
